A Bangladeshi expatriate was shot dead by a Saudi youth in Taif, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday morning, after which the attacker reportedly shot himself and died by suicide.
The incident occurred at around 4am local time in the Hawaya area of Taif, according to local reports.
The victim was identified as Kamrul Zaman, a Bangladeshi national from Kutubpur village in Begumganj upazila of Noakhali.
Reports said the Saudi attacker shot Kamrul before turning the gun on himself. The motive behind the shooting was not immediately clear.
Kamrul’s family has urged the authorities to investigate the incident and take necessary steps to repatriate his body to Bangladesh.
