DHAKA: A total of 506 people were arrested in the Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) regular operations across the capital over the past 24 hours. During the same period, 40 cases were filed.
DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Md. Akter Hossain confirmed the information on Sunday (September 27).
He said police conducted operations in different areas under various police stations and made the arrests while recovering various evidence and narcotics. Legal proceedings against the arrested individuals are underway.
According to Akter Hossain, the arrests were made by different DMP divisions as follows: Ramna Division 43, Lalbagh Division 52, Wari Division 52, Motijheel Division 68, Tejgaon Division 99, Mirpur Division 114, Gulshan Division 37, Uttara Division 38, and the Detective Branch 3.
During the operations, police recovered 400 grams of cannabis, 4,314 yaba tablets, two switch gears, one banner, six masks, 11 mobile phones, Tk 5,100 in cash, and rescued one victim.
