The Ministry of Youth and Sports has formed a five-member high-level committee to investigate allegations that the question paper for the Department of Youth Development’s recruitment examination for the post of Assistant Upazila Youth Development Officer was leaked on social media.

The committee has been asked to submit its report to the ministry within the next three working days.

The ministry announced the formation of the committee in an office order issued on Saturday.

Additional Secretary Md Mahfuzul Alam Khan of the ministry’s Administration Division has been appointed convener, while the Deputy Secretary of the Administration Wing will serve as member-secretary.

The other members are the Joint Secretary of the ministry’s Finance and Performance Management Wing, a representative of the Ministry of Public Administration at the rank of joint secretary, and the Director (Seed Financing) of the Department of Youth Development.

According to the committee’s terms of reference, it will investigate the alleged leak by recording statements from officials and employees involved in preparing, printing and distributing the question papers. It will also question internal and external individuals suspected of assisting in the alleged leak.

The committee will examine the circumstances surrounding the incident as part of its investigation.

The recruitment examination for 242 posts was scheduled to begin at 11:00am on Saturday. However, it was cancelled an hour before the scheduled start following allegations that the question paper had been leaked.
