Former education minister and Awami League joint general secretary Dipu Moni was taken from the Central Jail to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for a health check-up on Friday.
A team from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) brought the former lawmaker to the hospital from the prison at around 11:45am.
After necessary medical tests and an initial health examination, she was taken back to the Central Jail under police escort at around 12:15pm.
DB Police Inspector Nasir Uddin Sarker confirmed the matter, saying Dipu Moni had been taken to DMCH for a preliminary medical examination and returned to prison after the required tests were completed.
