DHAKA: The motorcycle used by former Air Force officer KM Tahsif Sauri, 28, has been recovered just 50 yards from the location where his body was found.
The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) recovered the motorcycle from the Mazar Basti area of Tongi on Friday morning (October 30).
PBI Chief and Additional Inspector General of Police Mostafa Kamal confirmed the development, saying, “We recovered Tahsif’s motorcycle from an area close to the crime scene.”
Earlier, Tahsif had left his home on Tuesday evening with a man named Deep. His body was later recovered from the Turag River.
In connection with the incident, PBI Dhaka Metro North took Ahmed Shahriar Reza Deep into custody on Thursday night for questioning. Investigators also conducted raids at several locations throughout the night, taking him along.
The investigation agency is currently examining various pieces of information obtained during questioning, including statements provided by Deep.
“We have obtained several pieces of information since taking Deep into custody,” Mostafa Kamal said.
However, he declined to disclose the details at this stage, citing the interests of the investigation.
Meanwhile, PBI Headquarters Superintendent of Police Abu Yusuf said investigators are still verifying whether the recovered motorcycle belonged to Tahsif.
