Well-marked low forms over Southeast Bay

DHAKA: A low-pressure area over the South Andaman Sea and adjoining areas has intensified into a well-marked low over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andaman Sea.

According to the latest weather update, the system was centred over the area at 6am on Saturday and is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify further.

All fishing boats and trawlers operating in the North Bay have been advised not to venture into the deep sea until further notice.

The situation is being closely monitored as the weather system continues to develop.
