Saudi Arabia’s National Centre for Meteorology (NCM) has issued orange and red weather alerts across several regions, warning of dense fog, strong winds and moderate to heavy thunderstorms.
The warnings were issued in a forecast released by the NCM on Sunday (November 1).
According to the weather authority, a red alert represents the highest level of warning for severe weather hazards, while an orange alert indicates potentially dangerous weather conditions.
Two red alerts have been issued for parts of the Eastern Province due to dense fog. Orange alerts have also been issued for other areas of the province over similar conditions.
Meanwhile, orange alerts have been issued for parts of the Northern Borders, Hail, Makkah, Asir, Al-Baha and Jazan regions, where moderate rainfall is expected.
The NCM has particularly warned of moderate to heavy thunderstorms in parts of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, Madinah, Hail and the Northern Borders.
In addition to rain and fog, strong winds are expected to trigger dust and sandstorms in parts of Riyadh and Al-Qassim.
The weather authority has also warned of possible flash floods in some parts of the kingdom due to heavy rainfall.
