The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has been deployed in several areas of Gazipur to maintain law and order amid ongoing garment workers’ protests demanding wage increases and other benefits.
BGB Public Relations Officer Mohammad Shariful Islam confirmed the deployment on Sunday morning.
He said BGB personnel had been deployed in Chandra and Palli Bidyut, Safipur, Konabari, Mouchak, Naojor and Bhogra bypass areas to maintain law and order and help resolve the ongoing labour unrest.
