Chinese textile manufacturer Huarun Tex Co. Ltd. is set to invest US$30 million in Bangladesh’s BEPZA Economic Zone (BEPZA EZ) in Mirsharai, Chattogram, marking another significant boost to the country’s growing industrial sector.

The company plans to establish a modern textile manufacturing facility on 36,000 square metres of land within the economic zone.

Once fully operational, the plant will have an annual production capacity of 24,000 tonnes of yarn and 20 million metres of grey woven fabric, contributing to Bangladesh’s export-oriented textile industry.

The investment is also expected to generate employment opportunities for around 580 Bangladeshi nationals, supporting local livelihoods and skill development.

A land lease agreement between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Huarun Tex Co. Ltd. was formally signed on July 16, 2026, at the BEPZA Complex in Dhaka, according to an official press release.

Md. Tanvir Hossain, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA, and Bin Wang, Managing Director of Huarun Tex Co. Ltd., signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Mohammad Moazzem Hossain.

Speaking at the event, the BEPZA executive chairman expressed appreciation to Huarun Tex for selecting Bangladesh—and specifically the BEPZA Economic Zone—as its investment destination.

He reaffirmed BEPZA’s commitment to providing a safe, modern and investor-friendly business environment, assuring full cooperation to ensure smooth implementation of the project.
