Dr Md. Ershad Hussain Rana, Chairman and CEO of Dawn Group, has been elected President of the France-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFB) for the 2026-2028 term.
The new leadership team also includes M. A. Reaz, Director (Business Development) of Expo Holdings (BD) Ltd., and Md. Jahangir Alam Sharker, Managing Director and CEO of 3i Logistics (Pvt.) Ltd., as Vice Presidents. Farzana Chowdhury of Abista FS Ltd. has been elected Treasurer.
The chamber’s new 17-member Board of Directors comprises prominent business leaders representing a wide range of industries, reflecting CCIFB’s commitment to strengthening commercial ties between Bangladesh and France.
The board members are Syed Sadat Ahmed (ABN Group), Dató K. M. Rifatuzzaman (Akhtar Group), Badria Anis (Bangladesh Exports Ltd.), Ahmed Saifuddin Chowdhury (Bangladesh General Insurance Company Ltd.), Arif Rahman (Bengal Airlift Ltd.), Brig. Gen. Sharif Aziz, PSC (Retd.) (Elite Security Services Ltd.), Md. Asadul Islam (Fariha Knit Tex Ltd.), S. M. Rahman (Novo Cargo Services Ltd.), Mohammad Rashed (Pacific Design & Sourcing), S. A. Bahadur (Radiant Corporation), Salimul Haque Essa (Tasho Enterprises Ltd.), Mahmodul Islam Parvez (Uni-Global Business Ltd.) and Sana Sattar (Utah Knitting & Dyeing Ltd.).
The new board formally assumed office during the Board Transition Ceremony held immediately after the Chamber’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on June 25. The event marked the official handover of responsibilities to the newly elected leadership.
The ceremony concluded with a networking luncheon attended by chamber members and business leaders, reaffirming CCIFB’s commitment to promoting bilateral trade, investment and business cooperation between France and Bangladesh.
Established to strengthen economic ties between the two countries, CCIFB plays a key role in facilitating trade, investment and business partnerships by connecting companies, promoting dialogue and supporting commercial opportunities in both markets.
