A fire broke out in several tin-shed houses in Dhaka’s Shyamoli area on Thursday afternoon.
The fire originated around 3:15pm on Road No. 3 in Shyamoli, in the area beyond Dhaka Udyan, according to the Fire Service control room.
Two units from the Mohammadpur Fire Station reached the scene at around 3:30pm, 15 minutes after receiving the report, and began efforts to bring the blaze under control.
Fire Service Inspector Anwarul Islam confirmed the incident, saying two units were currently working to contain the fire.
“Considering the intensity of the fire, we have not yet needed any additional units. We hope to bring it fully under control soon,” he said.
The cause of the fire and the extent of damage could not immediately be determined. No casualties have been reported so far, according to the Fire Service.
