A fire broke out on the second floor of Building No. 6 at the Bangladesh Secretariat in Dhaka on Tuesday evening, but it was brought under control before a Fire Service unit arrived.
The Fire Service received the report at around 6:42pm, according to duty officer Rozina Akter.
The fire reportedly originated in the ceiling above a bathroom on the building’s second floor.
An initial assessment suggests that an electrical short circuit may have caused the incident.
A Fire Service unit was immediately dispatched to the scene, but officials and staff inside the building managed to extinguish the fire using fire extinguishers before the unit arrived.
No further details were immediately available.
