Daily transactions through Bangla QR have surpassed Tk 1.10 billion, with both transaction volume and value rising sharply since Bangladesh introduced its mandatory “One Country, One QR” system.

According to a press release issued on Sunday, the use of a single Bangla QR code became mandatory across the country from July 1, replacing various individual QR code systems.

At the beginning of July, Bangla QR recorded an average of around 178,000 transactions per day, worth about Tk 373.3 million. Over the past week, the daily average number of transactions has increased to approximately 303,000, while the daily transaction value has risen to around Tk 1.1038 billion.

The number of merchants using Bangla QR has also grown significantly, rising from around 1.6 million to more than 3 million as of July 21, 2026.

Both private and state-owned commercial banks are playing an important role in expanding the Bangla QR service. Officials expect the rapid growth in its use to strengthen digital payments and help build a more convenient, efficient and inclusive payment system in Bangladesh.
