The government has appointed Mohammad Abdul Muhith as Bangladesh’s new High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, with a posting in London for a two-year contractual term.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Monday, Muhith0’s remaining tenure as Rector of the Foreign Service Academy has been cancelled to facilitate the new appointment.
He has been appointed on a contract basis with Grade-1 status for two years, effective from the date of his joining at the Bangladesh High Commission in London.
The notification said his unused post-retirement leave and related benefits would remain suspended during the contractual appointment.
He will also be required to sever employment ties with any other profession, business, government, semi-government, private institution or organisation.
The remaining terms and conditions of his appointment will be determined through a formal contract, the notification added.
