The second Embassy Indoor Games 2026 will begin on Friday, bringing together representatives from more than 26 diplomatic missions, international organisations and institutions in Bangladesh for two days of friendly competition and networking.

Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman will inaugurate the event as the chief guest at 10am at the International School Dhaka (ISD) in the capital’s Bashundhara Residential Area.

Organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and managed by Gameplay Ltd, the event aims to promote sports diplomacy, friendship, teamwork and international cooperation among members of the diplomatic and international community.

Following the success of the inaugural edition, this year’s games will feature around 120 participants representing 26 diplomatic missions and international organisations, as well as government and other prominent institutions.

Competitions will be held in four categories: table tennis singles and doubles, and badminton doubles and mixed doubles.

Participants include representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the embassies of Algeria, Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Denmark, Egypt, Germany, India, Indonesia, Iran, Nepal, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden, as well as the European Union.

Representatives from various United Nations missions, the World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB) and International Organization for Migration (IOM) will also take part, alongside participants from ISD and a2i.
