Bangladesh’s apparel exports earned $7.5 billion in the first two months of the 2026-27 fiscal year, marking a 5.12% increase from $7.13 billion recorded in the same period a year earlier.
According to the latest data from the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), the country’s readymade garment (RMG) exports maintained positive growth in both July-August and August alone.
In August, apparel exports rose 13.92% year-on-year to $3.61 billion, up from $3.17 billion in August 2025.
Knitwear exports increased 14.88% to $2.03 billion during the month, while woven garment exports grew 12.70% to $1.57 billion.
Mohiuddin Rubel, founder and CEO of Bangladesh Apparel Voice, said the continued growth in both knitwear and woven garments reflects international buyers’ confidence in Bangladeshi apparel and the sector’s sustained competitiveness in the global market.
