Additional Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Abdullah Al Zahir has been attached to the Headquarters Branch of Bangladesh Police from its Repair and Maintenance Branch, according to an official order.
The order, signed by Inspector General of Police Md Ali Hossain Fakir on Tuesday, said Al Zahir would remain attached to the new branch until further instructions.
Al Zahir, who holds the ranks of BPМ-Seba and PPM (Bar), was serving in the Repair and Maintenance Branch of Police Headquarters as a supernumerary Additional DIG.
The order took immediate effect, and copies were sent to relevant police officials and units, including Additional Inspectors General, DIGs, metropolitan police commissioners and heads of different police units.
Mohammad Sharif Uddin, Additional DIG (Confidential) at Police Headquarters, who is also serving as Additional DIG (Headquarters) in an additional capacity, forwarded copies of the order to the concerned authorities.
