Storms, thunderstorms forecast in 7 regions

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast rain or thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds in seven regions of the country on Friday.

According to the forecast, temporary gusty or squally winds at speeds of 45–60 kilometres per hour, along with rain or thunderstorms, may sweep over Faridpur, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar by early afternoon.

River ports in the affected areas have been asked to display Warning Signal No. 1.

The warning is effective from 5am to 1pm on Friday, according to the weather department’s forecast for the country’s inland river ports.
