The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds of up to 60 kilometres per hour in eight districts by noon on Friday.
The affected areas are Kushtia, Faridpur, Jashore, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali and Cumilla, according to a forecast issued by the department’s Storm Warning Centre at 5am.
Winds may blow from the west or northwest at speeds of 40–60 kilometres per hour, with rain or thundershowers likely during the period.
The department has advised the river ports in the affected areas to display warning signal No. 1.
