60-kmph storm likely in several districts by noon

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast that gusty winds of up to 60 kilometers per hour may sweep across several districts by noon on Friday. Rain or thunderstorms are also likely in the affected areas.

According to the weather forecast issued for the country’s inland river ports, valid from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday (August 14), temporary gusty winds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour may blow from the south or southeast over Rajshahi, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar.

Rain or thundershowers are likely in these areas. As a precaution, river ports in the affected regions have been advised to display **Warning Signal No. 1**.
