Gusty winds forecast in 8 districts by noon

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast gusty winds of up to 60 km/h over eight districts by noon on Friday, along with the possibility of rain or thundershowers.

According to a weather warning issued for the country’s inland river ports, valid from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday (July 17), the affected districts are Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet.

The BMD said temporary gusty or squally winds, blowing from the south or southeast at speeds of 45–60 km/h, may sweep across these areas.

Rain or thundershowers are also likely during the period. Inland river ports in the affected regions have been advised to hoist Local Cautionary Signal No. 1.
