DHAKA: President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has congratulated Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on being elected and assuming office as the President of Bangladesh.
The information was conveyed in a message sent by the UAE Embassy in Dhaka on Friday morning (September 4).
In his congratulatory message, the UAE President extended his sincere greetings and best wishes to President Mirza Fakhrul. He wished him good health and peace and expressed hopes for continued progress and prosperity for the government and people of Bangladesh.
In separate congratulatory messages, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also extended his greetings to Mirza Fakhrul on his election and swearing-in as Bangladesh’s President.
UAE Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan also congratulated the newly elected President.
The UAE expressed its willingness to work closely with Bangladesh’s new leadership to further strengthen the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Bangladesh and the UAE maintain close bilateral relations in areas including trade, investment, energy, aviation, manpower and people-to-people ties. A large Bangladeshi expatriate community living in the Gulf country also continues to make significant contributions to strengthening the economic and social relations between the two nations.
