Prices of silver, platinum and palladium fell in the international market on Thursday (August 13), alongside a decline in gold prices, according to a Reuters report.
The report said spot silver prices fell 1.36% to $64.41 per ounce. Silver had reached its highest level since June 22 in the previous session.
Meanwhile, platinum prices dropped 1.93% to $1,722.65 per ounce, while palladium declined 2.16% to $1,339.87 per ounce.
The decline in precious metal prices was driven by profit-taking following recent gains, along with changing expectations over interest rates after the release of new US inflation data.
Meanwhile, spot gold fell 0.7% to $4,373.29 per ounce. Earlier, prices had risen nearly 1% at the start of Asian trading, reaching their highest level since June 5.
US gold futures for December delivery also declined 0.8% to $4,430.20 per ounce.
