Bangladesh’s overall inflation rose to 8.34 per cent in September, up from 8.26 per cent in August, according to the latest data released by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) on Tuesday.
The inflation rate increased by 0.08 percentage point month-on-month.
Food inflation rose to 7.22 per cent in September from 7.02 per cent in August, an increase of 0.20 percentage point.
However, food inflation was lower than the 7.64 per cent recorded in September last year.
Non-food inflation edged down to 9.30 per cent in September from 9.32 per cent in August, a decline of 0.02 percentage point.
The non-food inflation rate, however, was higher than the 8.98 per cent recorded in September last year, according to BBS data.
