…The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase has recommended approving a proposal to import refined petroleum products worth approximately Tk 168.89 billion under government-to-government (G2G) agreements for the July–December 2026 period.
The recommendation was made at the committee’s 33rd meeting of 2026, held at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Wednesday and chaired by Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury.
According to the Cabinet Division, the Energy and Mineral Resources Division placed the proposal after considering the agreed premium, import volume, and prevailing benchmark prices under the relevant memoranda of understanding.
Under the proposal, refined petroleum products will be imported through G2G agreements from six state-owned foreign companies: ENOC of the United Arab Emirates, PetroChina and Unipec of China, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) of India, PTT of Thailand, and BSP of Indonesia
