The approval was given at a CCGP meeting held at the Secretariat, chaired by Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury.
Under the approved proposal, South Korea’s Posco International Corporation will supply one LNG cargo for delivery on September 13-14 at $24.625 per MMBtu.
The second cargo will be supplied by TotalEnergies Gas & Power Ltd of the UK for delivery on September 23-24 at $24.25 per MMBtu.
The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources placed the proposal before the committee under Rule 105(3)(a) of the Public Procurement Rules 2025 through the Request for Quotation (International) process.
The committee approved the purchases after reviewing the procurement process and the recommended bidders.
The latest approval comes as Bangladesh continues to depend heavily on imported LNG to meet rising demand for natural gas, particularly from the power and industrial sectors.
