Hollywood superstar Tom Holland’s latest film, ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, has made box-office history by crossing the $500 million mark in North America in just seven days—the fastest any film has reached the milestone in the region.
Starring Tom Holland and Zendaya, the blockbuster has become the 23rd film to surpass $500 million at the North American box office. The record is currently held by ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, which grossed $936.6 million in North America in 2015.
The achievement also surpasses the pace of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, which took 12 days to reach $500 million following its 2021 release.
According to Hollywood trade publication Deadline, ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ earned $32.7 million in North America last Wednesday alone, making it the second-highest-grossing non-opening Wednesday in box-office history. ‘The Force Awakens’ holds the record with $38 million.
Analysts expect the film’s strong run to continue through the weekend, with additional revenue likely from premium large-format and IMAX screenings.
The film has also crossed the $1 billion mark worldwide, further cementing its status as one of the year’s biggest and most successful blockbusters.
