Sony-Marvel’s blockbuster Spider-Man: Brand New Day is continuing its remarkable box-office run, earning $2.24 billion worldwide and retaining the widest theatrical release as it enters its fifth weekend.
The film will screen in 3,678 theatres this weekend, only slightly down from 4,006 last weekend. Despite two major new releases, exhibitors are keeping Brand New Day in more cinemas than any other film.
The Looney Tunes comedy Coyote vs. Acme will open in 3,575 theatres. The film has received strong reviews, scoring 95% from critics and 92% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. It is projected to earn between $14 million and $22 million in its domestic opening weekend.
Ridley Scott’s post-apocalyptic thriller The Dog Stars will debut in 3,330 theatres. The film is expected to collect around $9 million to $14 million domestically.
Since its July 31 release, Brand New Day has broken several box-office records. It posted a $169 million opening day, a $360 million domestic opening weekend and a $47 million Monday—the biggest figures ever recorded for those periods.
The film also became the fastest movie to cross $500 million domestically, reaching the mark in just seven days. It is currently the second-highest-grossing film in the US and the highest-grossing movie of 2026.
Brand New Day is expected to earn another $22 million to $27 million domestically this weekend, which could move it past Titanic on the list of the highest-grossing films of all time.
