US actress Angelina Jolie has shared before-and-after satellite images from Google Maps to highlight the scale of destruction in Gaza.
In a lengthy post on X, Jolie wrote that the impact of the destruction in Gaza could now be seen by opening Google Earth.
She said large parts of Gaza had been reduced to rubble, with homes, schools, universities, hospitals, roads, and water and sewage systems destroyed or damaged.
Jolie also said around 1.98 million people in Gaza needed humanitarian assistance, while restrictions and delays continued to affect the delivery of aid and shelter supplies to the territory.
Jolie has long been involved in refugee and humanitarian issues. She served as a goodwill ambassador for the UN refugee agency from 2001 to 2012 and as its special envoy from 2012 to 2022.
