The Bangladesh High Commission in the Maldives has advised Bangladeshis who returned home due to visa irregularities to verify whether they were deported before attempting to travel to the island nation again.
In a warning notice issued on Monday (November 2), the high commission said Bangladeshis who had previously stayed in the Maldives and returned home due to visa-related issues should check with the Maldivian immigration authorities through their respective employers to confirm whether they were formally deported.
The notice stated that anyone deported by Maldivian immigration authorities would not be allowed to re-enter the country, even with a new visa.
To avoid possible harassment and financial losses, the high commission urged concerned Bangladeshis to verify their immigration status before travelling to the Maldives again.
