The Bangladesh High Commission in the Maldives has urged expatriate Bangladeshi workers to collect copies of their employment contracts from their respective employers or companies and keep them for personal records.

In a notice issued on Sunday (November 1), the High Commission said every worker must have a written employment contract with the respective company, in accordance with the rules.

The contract must clearly specify the worker’s responsibilities, salary, benefits and other terms and conditions of employment, it said.

The notice also said it was the responsibility of each worker to collect a copy of the contract from their respective company and preserve it for future reference.

The High Commission requested all Bangladeshi expatriate workers employed in the Maldives to comply with the directive.
