Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury has said the government will announce and implement a new pay scale for government employees within this year.
He made the remarks on Monday after a meeting of a committee formed to make recommendations on the report of the Bangladesh Judicial Service Pay Commission, 2025, at the Finance Ministry in the Secretariat.
The finance minister said discussions and reviews on several aspects of the proposed pay scale are still pending.
The government will announce the details after considering all relevant issues and reaching a final decision.
He said the government is giving serious consideration to the matter and urged everyone to remain patient until the final decision is made.
