Retired Supreme Court Appellate Division Justice A.K.M. Asaduzzaman has been appointed chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), with the government issuing a gazette notification on Monday, August 17.
Dr Jahangir Alam Khan and Dr Md Sazzad Hossain Bhuiyan have been appointed as ACC commissioners.
The appointments were made by the President under the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004.
Under the notification, the ACC chairman will receive the salary, allowances, benefits and status equivalent to a judge of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, while the commissioners will enjoy equivalent status to High Court judges.
The new appointments bring a change in the leadership of the country’s anti-graft watchdog.
