A 42-year-old man died after falling from the roof of the 16-storey BIRDEM Hospital building in Dhaka on Tuesday evening.
The deceased was identified as Dipu Sultan Rasel, son of Imam Uddin and a resident of Rajab Ali Sardar Road in Kadamtali.
Md Nayeem, sub-inspector of Ramna Model Police Station, said Rasel fell from the rooftop at around 6:15pm. Police rushed to the scene after receiving the information and rescued him.
He was later taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital at around 11:30pm, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Police said the body has been kept at the DMCH morgue for autopsy. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
