The results of the re-scrutiny of SSC and equivalent examination answer scripts will be published at 10am on Thursday, September 10, with a record 12.87 lakh answer scripts submitted for review this year.

Prof Syed Aktaruzzaman, president of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and chairman of the Dhaka Education Board, confirmed the schedule on Wednesday.

“This year’s SSC and equivalent examination re-scrutiny results will be published around 10am tomorrow,” he said.

The re-scrutiny process has been changed this year. For the first time, answer scripts submitted for review were re-evaluated rather than being checked only for errors in adding marks.

Previously, re-scrutiny mainly involved verifying whether marks had been correctly added or transferred. The answer scripts were not fully evaluated again.

Applications for re-scrutiny were accepted from August 11 to August 17. A total of 402,051 candidates across 11 education boards applied for re-scrutiny.

As candidates could apply for multiple subjects, the number of answer scripts was much higher than the number of applicants. Applications were submitted for 1,056,455 written-examination scripts and 231,471 practical-examination scripts, totalling 1,287,926.

The Dhaka Education Board received the highest number of applications, with 94,236 candidates seeking re-scrutiny of 277,665 written and 58,012 practical answer scripts.

More than 35,000 candidates applied in Cumilla, over 39,000 each in Rajshahi and Chattogram, more than 28,000 in Jashore, over 17,000 in Barishal, 20,000 in Sylhet, more than 37,000 in Dinajpur and 27,676 in Mymensingh.
