The Home Ministry has issued new instructions requiring all visitors to obtain and verify a one-time password (OTP) before entering Bangladesh Secretariat.
The directive was issued in a notification signed by Md Tofayel Hossain, deputy secretary of the ministry’s Secretariat Security Branch, on Wednesday.
The notification said authorities had recently observed an increase in visitors entering the Secretariat without valid entry passes or permission.
Such unauthorised entry could pose a security risk to the Secretariat and disrupt the normal environment for government operations, it said.
The authorities have therefore been instructed to allow visitors to enter the Secretariat only after properly verifying their OTPs before entry.
