Bangladesh’s newly elected President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s swearing-in ceremony is being attended by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. He entered Bangabhaban at around 7:08 pm on Friday (August 21), where outgoing Acting President Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram welcomed him.
The Prime Minister will attend the state ceremony being held at the Durbar Hall of Bangabhaban to mark the swearing-in of the newly elected President.
Strict security measures have been put in place in and around Bangabhaban ahead of the ceremony.
Outgoing Acting President Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram arrived at Bangabhaban at 6:00 pm.
Ministers, state ministers, chiefs of the three armed forces, members of parliament, judges, diplomats from various countries, senior state officials, and invited guests from different professions are also attending the ceremony.
The swearing-in of newly elected President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir as the country’s 23rd President will take place at the Durbar Hall of Bangabhaban. All preparations for the ceremony have already been completed.
