Argentina began life without Lionel Messi with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Bolivia in a friendly in Córdoba on Wednesday.
Lautaro Martínez opened the scoring in the 19th minute before Nicolás Paz doubled Argentina’s lead 10 minutes later.
Cristian Romero headed home early in the second half to make it 3-0, while José Manuel “Flaco” López completed the rout in the 86th minute.
Argentina dominated the match and kept Bolivia under sustained pressure throughout. Paz was particularly influential, scoring once and providing the assist for Romero’s goal.
The match was Argentina’s first since their defeat to Spain in the 2026 World Cup final and followed Messi’s announcement of his international retirement.
