Gold prices have been reduced again in Bangladesh, with the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) cutting the price of the precious metal.
Following the latest adjustment, the price of 22-carat gold—the highest quality—has fallen by Tk2,216 per bhori (11.664 grams) to Tk235,146.
The new prices came into effect at 10am on Sunday (September 6).
BAJUS said the decision was taken following a decline in the price of acid gold in the local market. The association’s Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring reached the decision at a meeting.
Under the revised rates, 21-carat gold now costs Tk224,614 per bhori, while 18-carat gold is priced at Tk192,901 per bhori.
The price of traditional gold has been set at Tk157,525 per bhori.
