5 more children die with measles-like symptoms

Five more children have died from measles and measles-like symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours. During the same period, 1,025 children were reported to have contracted measles or developed measles-like symptoms.

The information was disclosed in an updated measles report issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the report, four more children died from measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours, while another child died after being confirmed to have measles.

With these deaths, the total number of children who have died from measles-like symptoms across the country since March 15 has reached 786. Another 99 children have died after being confirmed to have measles. This brings the combined death toll from measles and measles-like symptoms to 885 during the period.

In addition, 84 children were confirmed to have measles in the past 24 hours, while 941 developed measles-like symptoms. During the same period, 879 children were newly admitted to hospitals, while 847 were discharged.
