Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Humaiun Kobir on Wednesday urged the Maldives to expand employment opportunities for Bangladeshi workers in the island nation.
He made the request when Maldives High Commissioner to Bangladesh Shiuneen Rasheed paid a courtesy call on him at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon, Dhaka, in the afternoon.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
They exchanged views on enhancing bilateral and multilateral engagement between Bangladesh and the Maldives and explored opportunities to further deepen the existing ties.
The adviser and the high commissioner also discussed greater cooperation in tourism, human resources and investment.
