Cyclonic storm Arnab has intensified over the Bay of Bengal, prompting authorities to issue warnings for the country’s maritime ports.
However, the latest available report from October 26 said the ports had been asked to hoist distant warning signal No. 2, not local cautionary signal No. 3.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department said the storm was expected to intensify further and move towards India’s Andhra Pradesh coast, potentially making landfall on October 28.
Fishing boats and trawlers operating in the North Bay of Bengal have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
