Multiple explosions were reported again in southern Iran on Monday, intensifying regional tensions as both Iran and the United States exchange claims over recent military actions.
According to Qatar-based broadcaster Al Jazeera, citing Iran’s Mehr News Agency, blasts were heard in the port city of Bandar Abbas and on Qeshm Island.
However, there have been no immediate reports of casualties or damage to residential or commercial infrastructure.
Mehr News Agency claimed that over the past several nights, “US forces” have carried out attacks along Iran’s southern coastline, resulting in the deaths of several guards and fishermen.
The reported explosions follow a series of strikes allegedly conducted by the United States.
On Sunday, for the third consecutive day, US forces carried out operations targeting Iran’s air defence systems, coastal radar installations, missile and drone capabilities, as well as small naval vessels, according to US officials.
In response, Iran reportedly launched retaliatory strikes on US military bases located across five Gulf countries — Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates.
Reuters reported that Iran has intensified its attacks in the Gulf region following the latest US strikes, raising concerns over a broader escalation in an already volatile region.
The situation remains fluid, with no independent confirmation yet available regarding the full scale of damage or casualties on either side.
