Dhaka: Moderate to heavy rainfall is likely in some parts of the country due to the influence of the monsoon, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
The weather department said in its forecast for Wednesday (August 26) that day and night temperatures across the country may remain nearly unchanged.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds, may occur in many places across Rangpur, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, and in some places in Rajshahi, Dhaka and Khulna divisions.
Meteorologists said light to moderate rainfall has been occurring in different parts of the country as the monsoon remains active during the rainy season. They said the tendency for rainfall may continue in coastal areas due to atmospheric conditions over the North Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas.
Weather conditions are being monitored at river ports and seaports to ensure normal operations. Depending on the overall weather situation, fishing boats and trawlers in coastal areas have been advised to operate cautiously.
In Dhaka, sunrise was at 5:38am and sunset is expected at 6:23pm today. The bulletin said day and night temperatures across the country will remain near normal and largely unchanged.
Weather experts have advised people to carry umbrellas and necessary rain protection when going outside. Residents of low-lying areas of cities have also been urged to remain alert to avoid temporary disruptions caused by rainfall.
