Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said Ukraine remains ready to pursue diplomatic efforts to end the war with Russia following talks with senior US envoys.
Zelensky met US representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in Kyiv as Washington stepped up efforts to broker an end to the conflict.
The US envoys had also held discussions in Moscow with Russian officials, including President Vladimir Putin.
Zelensky said Ukraine was prepared to continue working with the United States on a possible peace framework, but stressed that any agreement must protect Ukraine’s sovereignty and security.
The talks come as the Trump administration seeks to accelerate negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow after more than four years of war.
BBC reports indicate that the US envoys’ latest diplomatic mission involved visits to both Moscow and Kyiv.
Ukraine has repeatedly said it wants a lasting peace but will not accept terms that compromise its territorial integrity or leave the country vulnerable to another Russian attack.
