An 18-year-old German tourist, identified as Kirill, broke down in tears at Natore Sadar Police Station on Wednesday after his bag containing a laptop, camera and other valuables went missing at Natore railway station.

Kirill had been travelling around Bangladesh to visit historical and tourist attractions.

He arrived in Natore from Bogura by train at around 4pm and was waiting in the station’s waiting room before travelling to India through the Darshana border.

According to reports, Kirill left his bag at the station while he went to withdraw money from an ATM.

Another account says he had handed over his belongings to a railway employee wearing a vest before leaving. When he returned, the bag was gone.

He then contacted railway authorities and was directed to Natore Sadar Police Station. After waiting there for a considerable period for assistance, the distressed tourist broke down in tears.

Kirill reportedly said the location service of his laptop showed it was in the Naogaon area at around 6:40pm, raising hopes that the stolen belongings could be recovered.

Natore Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Munsur Ahmed said the incident primarily falls under the jurisdiction of railway police.

However, because the victim is a foreign national, police are treating the matter with the highest priority.

Police said they had already identified the location of the stolen devices and sent a team there.

They expressed hope that Kirill’s laptop, camera and other belongings would be recovered soon.
