DHAKA: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman attended the inaugural ceremony of Bangladesh Solar Expo 2026 as the chief guest and formally inaugurated the event on Tuesday morning.
The expo was inaugurated at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in the capital.
Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmud presided over the ceremony. The theme of this year’s expo is: “Utilise Every Inch of Rooftop, Increase Income Through Solar Power.”
Also present on the stage alongside the Prime Minister were State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit, Finance Secretary Dr Md Khairuzzaman Majumder, and Secretary of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Mirana Mahrook.
Ministers, state ministers, members of parliament, secretaries and senior government officials from various ministries also attended the inaugural ceremony.
