Rumours are growing in Bangladesh’s film industry that Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan and popular Indian actress Idhika Pal are set to reunite for a new film, creating excitement among fans on both sides of the border.
The pair previously starred in the blockbuster Priyotoma, which became one of the highest-grossing films in Bangladesh’s history. Their latest collaboration, Borbaad, released during last year’s Eid, also enjoyed major commercial success.
The upcoming film will reportedly be directed by Mehedi Hasan Hridoy and produced under the banner of Real Energy Production.
Earlier, speculation suggested that actress Sabila Nur would star opposite Shakib Khan. However, producer Shahrin Akter Sumi dismissed the reports, saying the production house has no plans to cast her in the project.
Industry sources now indicate that Idhika Pal is the leading choice to reunite with Shakib Khan. Although the filmmakers have yet to make an official announcement, news of the popular on-screen pair coming together again has generated widespread interest among moviegoers.
The film is expected to blend action, romance and revenge, with pre-production work already underway. If everything goes as planned, shooting is scheduled to begin in October this year.
Possible titles such as Nissho and Hyena have been discussed, but the director said no final decision has been made. He promised that the film will present Shakib Khan in a completely new avatar with a fresh storyline and unique character portrayal.
