Popular rock star James, popularly known as Nagarbaul James, returned to Jagannath University (JnU) after a decade, thrilling students with his hit songs at a concert marking the university’s 21st founding anniversary.
The concert was held on Monday night (November 2) at the Science Building premises, drawing a large crowd of students and teachers.
James took the stage around 8pm and performed one popular song after another. Students enthusiastically sang along, while cheers and applause filled the campus, turning the venue into a festive gathering.
James last performed at the university in 2016. His return after 10 years made the occasion particularly special for students, many of whom described the concert as a memorable experience.
Student Robin Khan said watching James perform live on their own campus and singing along with him was an extraordinary experience.
Another student expressed delight at getting the opportunity to enjoy the performance of such a popular artiste, saying the university should organise similar events every year.
During the performance, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Rais Uddin told students that the university would take initiatives to bring James back to future campus events.
The concert was part of the daylong celebrations marking Jagannath University’s 21st founding anniversary, held under the theme “Tarunno Dipto Pran—Oikyoboddho Jabian”.
