After a successful run in cinemas, megastar Shakib Khan’s much-talked-about film Rockstar is set to make its OTT debut on Chorki.
The film will begin streaming on the popular platform from 12:00 am on July 22, allowing audiences in Bangladesh and abroad to watch it from home.
Directed by emerging filmmaker Azman Rusho, Rockstar received a positive response during its theatrical release. Expressing optimism over the OTT release, Rusho said the film had already reached a large number of cinema-goers and that its digital premiere would enable an even wider global audience to enjoy it.
“As a filmmaker, it is gratifying to see the film reaching more viewers through OTT,” he said.
Chorki Chief Executive Officer Redwan Rony described the collaboration between cinemas and OTT platforms as a positive development for the country’s film industry. He said such partnerships help quality content reach the widest possible audience and contribute to the growth of the industry.
Alongside Shakib Khan, the film stars Sabila Noor as Meera. The cast also includes Tanjia Zaman Mithila, Sunidhi Nayak, Pantho Kanai as an imprisoned musician, Tariq Anam Khan as Ustad Junaid, Rozi Siddiqui as Agun’s mother Shabnam, Dilara Zaman as Agun’s grandmother, and Kazi Sabir as Agun’s friend and assistant Aslam.
The screenplay was written by Nusrat Mati, while the dialogues were penned by Ayman Asib Swadhin and Samiul Bhuiyan. The film features several original songs, with lyrics, composition and vocals by Ahmed Hasan Sani. The background score and music direction were handled by Zahid Nirab.
Following its box-office success, Rockstar now looks to captivate audiences once again through its digital release on Chorki.
